(I am credited at the end of this television program, a small sample taped off my own tv in the Fair Use doctrine) Secret Service Agent Clint Hill fibs again- JFK did NOT order the agents off the limo in Dallas or elsewhere! HE HIMSELF rode briefly on the rear of the limo on Main Street in Dallas AND the film clip shown near the beginning of this excerpt- unfortunately slowed down [on purpose?]-depicts agents Bob Lilley and Roy Kellerman on the rear of the limo with the top on and the day was a beautiful, no rain situation. Lilley joined his many colleagues in denying that JFK ever ordered the agents off the limo. Lilley further told me that the motorcade shown reached speeds of 50 mph with the agents on the rear of the car! The other clip, run in real time [not slowed down], shows another motorcade with the top on in beautiful, no-rain conditions

John Joe Howlett, Sr. RIP

John Joe Howlett, Sr.
December 23, 1936 - October 10, 2013
John Joe Howlett, Sr., age 76, of Little Rock, formerly of Monticello, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013 at his home in Little Rock. Born December 23, 1936 he was the son of the late Byron P. Howlett, Sr. and Martha Howlett Howlett.

He was a retired special agent with the United States Secret Service, a United States Coast Guard Veteran and was a Baptist. Mr. Howlett was a Monticello High School graduate before enlisting in the Coast Guard. He then received a degree in Police Administration from Michigan State before coming back to Monticello. He there helped his father in the lumber yard business, Howlett’s Building Supplies, until he received his appointment with the United States Secret Service.

John Joe joined the Secret Service on October 1, 1962. He reported to the New York City Field Office and went from there to serve on detail for Vice-President Lyndon B. Johnson. From there he served the detail that guarded the famous Mona Lisa painting while it was in Washington, DC and from there to New York.

He left New York and came home to marry the love of his life of 50 years, Betty Lou Miller Howlett. He was then transferred to Dallas Field Office in February of 1963. It was there that former President of the United States, John F. Kennedy was assassinated where Mr. Howlett performed intense investigations on this tragedy. After the assassination, he assisted the Warren Commission report for about a year.

In 1966, he and his family reported to the forgery division Headquarters in Washington, DC. From there he coordinated the investigations of United States Savings Bonds. He remained there until September 1969 when he had the opportunity to transfer to the Little Rock Field Office. John Joe retired in December of 1989 where he began volunteer work for the Little Rock Public Schools and the “Seven On Your Side” edition on Channel 7 News.

He enjoyed his retirement just doing as he pleased. He was an avid hunter and cherished spending time with his family. John Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

His survivors include his wife of 50 years, Betty Lou Miller Howlett of Little Rock; two sons, John Howlett, Jr. and wife, Stephanie of Hensley and Lew Howlett and wife, Karen of Greenbrier; his daughter, Kathy Mayo of Conway; one brother, Byron P. ANOTHER reader is not fooled by The Kennedy Detail lies

2.0 out of 5 stars Same old lies, June 7, 2013
By
This review is from: The Kennedy Detail: JFK's Secret Service Agents Break Their Silence (Hardcover)
I bought this book hoping there would be new information about the Kennedy assasination. What a disappointment!! Instead of providing insight into the assassination, the book drones on about (1) agent's complaining about not getting to eat meals, being away from their families, being overworked, not getting sleep, etc., etc. (2) how fantastic every agent on the detail was, (3) how they couldn't have done anything more than they did to protect the president (4) how thorough the Warren Commission report was, (5) how emotionally affected each agent was after the assassination and (6) how mean people were suggesting that there was a conspiracy. The book was much more concerned with shaping a fictitious image of the Secret Service (spelled CYA) and supporting the government fabrication about the tragedy in Dallas than shedding any light on the truth. Many of Blaine's comments are in direct contradiction to facts that even government agency's have indicated were true while other comments just gloss over anything that might interfere with his "reality".

Just a handful of questions the book raises ...

Many of the agents in Dallas were out partying into the early morning hours of November 22; even if, as he states, they were off duty and not inebriated, the question left unanswered is why weren't they back at the hotel sleeping since throughout the book they complain about not getting enough rest. He talks about how stressful they expected the day to be and how important "mental alertness" was for them being able to do thier job. And yet somehow, he doesn't see the inherent contradiction.

Why was Johnson's detail already covering the VP while Kennedy's detail still hadn't even reacted cause "they weren't sure if what they heard was gunfire".

In what fantasy world does anyone actually believe that Ruby killed Oswald because of how much he cared about the Kennedy family.

Why does an agent, who at the time, says he thought at least one of the shots came from the grassy knoll and saw someone running in that direction after the fact, realize "when he thought back with a rational mind" years later that he was wrong. What pressure was applied to give him a clearer memory.

Why does Blaine see no validity in any assassination conspiracy theory yet when he couldn't sell the Secret Service IBM equipment, he immediately blamed in on a conspiracy to pay him back for leaving the Service.

Blaine says Chief Rowley told agents to lie whenever asked if the president ordered them to stay off the back of his car in an effort to "protect the president". What other lies might have been told in order to "protect" each other.

Survivor's Guilt: The Secret Service and the Failure to Protect President Kennedy by Vince Palamara

Survivor's Guilt: The Secret Service and the Failure to Protect President Kennedy by Vince Palamara

Painstakingly researched by an authority on the history of the Secret Service and based on primary, firsthand accounts from more than 80 former agents, White House aides, and family members, this is the definitive account of what went wrong with John F. Kennedy’s security detail on the day he was assassinated. The work provides a detailed look at how JFK could and should have been protected and debunks numerous fraudulent notions that persist about the day in question, including that JFK ordered agents off the rear of his limousine; demanded the removal of the bubble top that covered the vehicle; and was difficult to protect and somehow, directly or indirectly, made his own tragic death easier for an assassin or assassins. This book also thoroughly investigates the threats on the president’s life before traveling to Texas; the presence of unauthorized Secret Service agents in Dealey Plaza, the site of the assassination; the failure of the Secret Service in monitoring and securing the surrounding buildings, overhangs, and rooftops; and the surprising conspiratorial beliefs of several former agents. An important addition to the canon of works on JFK and his assassination, this study sheds light on the gross negligence and, in some cases, seeming culpability, of those sworn to protect the president.

Gerald Blaine's day of reckoning is upon us:

11/22/63: allegedly the worst day of his life...but was it? Really? He has profited handsomely from a book, a television documentary/ dvd, and an upcoming Hollywood movie (his best friend, Clint Hill, likewise has his SECOND book coming out)..."WE'RE IN THE MONEY $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$". Watch "The Kennedy Detail" documentary for some phoney crocodile, scripted tears, silly mushy music, and very insightful head turns and smirks, a clear sign of deception

9/1/13: Blaine's day of reckoning- the ACTUAL worst day of his life...my book, coming out that day, will expose the many deceptions in his book. It is selling VERY well in pre-order!

THE best review (of my book) I have ever received...and the one I enjoyed the most:

THE best review (of my book) I have ever received...and the one I enjoyed the most:

"Tunisiatouriste" wrote-

"my one prevailing thought after reading an advanced "sneak preview" of this amazing book: Oh, my God...while we were wasting our times with the parlor game of "who killed Kennedy", the REAL question before us all this time was "why did the Secret Service let Kennedy get killed and blame him for his own death afterwards?" I am astonished. Can we send Gerald Blaine and his pals to Abu Ghraib prison- is it too late for some water boarding techniques? I threw my copy of Blaine's volume in the trash can where it belongs. i am truly ashamed I wasted money on that pack of lies that reads like Good Housekeeping. Bravo Mr Palamara for setting the record straight. Can the agents be tried as war criminals???"

PRELIMINARY PRAISE FOR "SURVIVOR'S GUILT"

"Having read an advanced copy of Vincent's book, let me just tell you that "Survivor's Guilt: The Service Service and the Failure to Protect the President" is THE best book ever written on the Secret Service (and the JFK assassination, as well). What's more, "SURVIVOR'S GUILT" TOTALLY DEBUNKS "THE KENNEDY DETAIL" BY GERALD BLAINE! President Kennedy did not order the agents off his limousine; there was no morning-of-JFK's-funeral meeting as Blaine alleged (made up); JFK was not responsible for the small number of motorcycles allotted to his limousine in Dallas; President Kennedy, contrary to mythology, was not responsible for the bubbletop's removal; and soooo much more! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED- Vince deserves a medal for how extremely well researched and documented this book is. Blaine has ALOT of explaining to do!"

----

"Obtained this one via a friend in an advance reading group. Although pretty technical, I was mightily astonished at the mounds of evidence Mr. Palamara has unearthed. The conclusion is an uncomfortable one: the Secret Service dropped the ball in Dallas when JFK was killed. In fact, one tends to think the dropping of the ball was intentional; one gets that impression reading this disturbing book. Recommended with some wine and a clear mind. Excellent."

----

"My mind has been blown by the revelations contained in this book. The depth of research is truly scholarly and stellar- the author interviewed and corresponded with a whopping 80+ former agents! As it turns out, JFK did not ever ask the Secret Service to stay away. Whether Oswald acted alone (which I do not think he did) is beside the point- these agents let him get killed. A recommended book for all ages"

----

"A bud of mine let me peruse this in galley form. I must say i was blown away! I honestly didn not think anyone could move me to think something was truly out of the ordinary when President Kennedy was killed. I had thought Oswald did it and that was all she wrote. This fine book shows me I was wrong. I give this work the highest rating possible"

-----

"My reading group was given an advance copy of this book and I was taken aback, as I do not normally go for this sort of thing, being more of a romance novel lady haha. This is very good. I think the Secret Service men of the 1960's should be held criminally liable for the death of J.F.K."

5.0 out of 5 stars AN EXTREMELY IMPORTANT BOOK May 28, 2012

by David R. Wayne

I was so happy to see this now available at Amazon because it is a very noteworthy and complete study on an extremely important facet of contemporary history. Mr. Palamara truly is the leading civilian authority on the U.S. Secret Service and he exceeds our hopes in this excellent book. It is a very thorough study of what was one of the most important, yet most overlooked aspects of the JFK assassination.....namely.......WHAT DID THE SECRET SERVICE AGENTS SAY? This book answers that question and you will often be surprised at their answers. The facts are compiled flawlessly and we are presented with a very clear picture of what happened through the eyes of those who were right there. If you think there was no "security stripping" for President Kennedy on the Dallas trip, then you should really read this book. If you do not know who was responsible for changing the motorcade route, READ THIS BOOK. And if you think Oswald fired shots from the rear and there were no other shots, then READ THE TESTIMONY of the U.S. Secret Service agents. This is one of the most interesting books out there and truly worth the time.

THE KENNEDY DETAIL COVER-UP: NO MORE!

1961, Puerto Rico and Venezuela; 1963, Ireland and Germany- JFK was protected very well before the Texas trip: agents on/ near the rear of the limo, partial or full bubbletop, SAIC Behn or ASAIC Boring on the trips, motorcycles plenty and in proper formation, police AND/ OR military lining street and FACING crowd, underpasses guarded with no spectators allowed, fast speed of cars, press and photographers in a flatbed truck in FRONT of limo, good intelligence and response to local threats, etc. JFK didn't give a rat's behind  if the top was on or off the limo---he rode with it on a fair amount of time and, in fact, seemed to prefer the PARTIAL top: just the front and rear on the car with the middle open for air and to periodically stand. His bad back would prevent him from seeing the agents on the rear of the limo and HE DIDN'T CARE- he never ordered them off! Blaine has messed up history by BLAMING THE VICTIM...my book, COMING OUT FALL 2013 WORLDWIDE, will crucify him and his "pals". A lot of the Amazon reviews for Blaine's book make me want to puke- many are obviously planted/ friendly reviews, too: from his home state, former agents, etc. Blaine during his book tour: "THERE WAS NOTHING THE SECRET SERVICE COULD HAVE DONE TO PREVENT THE ASSASSINATION"...and people like Chris Matthews bought it!

RFK and his children believe there was a CONSPIRACY in the death of JFK!

RFK and his children believe there was a CONSPIRACY in the death of JFK!

DALLAS (AP) — Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is convinced that a lone gunman wasn't solely responsible for the assassination of his uncle, President John F. Kennedy, and said his father believed the Warren Commission report was a "shoddy piece of craftsmanship."
Kennedy and his sister, Rory, spoke about their family Friday night while being interviewed in front of an audience by Charlie Rose at the Winspear Opera House in Dallas. The event comes as a year of observances begins for the 50th anniversary of the president's death.
Their uncle was killed on Nov. 22, 1963, while riding in a motorcade through Dallas. Five years later, their father was assassinated in a Los Angeles hotel while celebrating his win in the California Democratic presidential primary.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said his father spent a year trying to come to grips with his brother's death, reading the work of Greek philosophers, Catholic scholars, Henry David Thoreau, poets and others "trying to figure out kind of the existential implications of why a just God would allow injustice to happen of the magnitude he was seeing."
He said his father thought the Warren Commission, which concluded Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in killing the president, was a "shoddy piece of craftsmanship." He said that he, too, questioned the report.
"The evidence at this point I think is very, very convincing that it was not a lone gunman," he said, but he didn't say what he believed may have happened.
Rose asked if he believed his father, the U.S. attorney general at the time of his brother's death, felt "some sense of guilt because he thought there might have been a link between his very aggressive efforts against organized crime."
Kennedy replied: "I think that's true. He talked about that. He publicly supported the Warren Commission report but privately he was dismissive of it."
He said his father had investigators do research into the assassination and found that phone records of Oswald and nightclub owner Jack Ruby, who killed Oswald two days after the president's assassination, "were like an inventory" of mafia leaders the government had been investigating.
He said his father, later elected U.S. senator in New York, was "fairly convinced" that others were involved.
